Invisalign Invisible Braces

Posted in Braces

Many people today are searching for options other than braces to straighten their teeth. For the most part, children and teens still go with traditional braces for their orthodontic treatment. However, adults are seeking alternative options that are less noticeable. Invisalign aligners are a clear alternative to metal braces as they are virtually invisible in the mouth, yet they straighten the teeth to improve your smile.

Many adults who never had braces as a child or teen, or whose teeth have not held their alignment from previous braces often feel self conscious about the appearance of their crooked teeth. However, many of these same adults feel the same way when given the option of wearing metal braces. Traditional braces are made up of metal brackets that sit on the front of the teeth and are held together and adjusted by metal wires. All of the metal is extremely noticeable, and many adults find that traditional braces do not fit in with their lifestyles or careers.

Invisalign was created for these people in mind! Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable teeth aligners to straighten and adjust the teeth and gum lines in the mouth. Because the Invisalign aligners are completely transparent, they are far more difficult to detect in the mouth than metal braces. Because of this, Invisalign is a popular choice for adults who want to enhance the appearance of their smiles. Invisalign treatments are most often a quicker option than traditional braces as well.

Because there is little impact on the faces of the teeth and the gum lines, many side effects of traditional orthodontics are often avoided. The Invisalign aligners are removed while eating, therefore, there is no worry of breaking a bracket and having to have it repaired. The quality of results from Invisalign is largely dependent on the patient’s habits of wearing them and cooperating with the timelines for changing aligners. But, since most adults are mature and want to see great results, they are often the perfect patient for cooperation.
